Regulating Cross-Border Data Flows
Issues, Challenges and Impact
Bryan Mercurio, Ronald Yu
Governing cross-border data flows is inherently difficult given the ubiquity and value of data, and the impact government policies can have on business, innovation and societal interests. Inclusionism in the Time of COVID-19
Edited by Colette Mazzucelli, James Felton Keith, C. Ann Hollifield
foreword by Azza Karam
afterword by Joshua CooperThis volume attests to the fact that pressing global public health concerns are ever present as subjects of societal discourse and debate in developed and developing states. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic makes the omission of the ethics of personal data collection analysis in the international relations literature even more salient given the rise of contact tracing and increased uses of mobile phone Apps to track citizens by states and firms across the globe, as this volume’s chapters analyzing the responses to COVID-19 in Iran and Taiwan explain.

Hacking Digital Ethics
David J. Krieger, Andréa Belliger
This book is not a critique of digital ethics but rather a hack. It develops an exploit kit on the basis of state-of-the-art social theory and uses it to breach the insecure legacy system upon which the discourse of digital ethics is running. It exposes the bugs, the sloppy programming, and the false promises of current digital ethics, and, because it is an ethical hack, it redesigns digital ethics so that it can address the problems of the global network society.

The Domains of Identity
A Framework for Understanding Identity Systems in Contemporary Society
Kaliya Young
“The Domains of Identity” defines sixteen coherent yet comprehensive categories of interactions which cause personally identifiable information to be stored in databases. Discussions of identity management are often confusing; enumerating these domains and describing their characteristics clarifies which problems arise and how they can be solved within each domain.
